International Cooperation Section:
ICS provides
opportunities for participation in international cooperation
projects, promotes awareness of international issues, provides a
mechanism for addressing and responding to the needs of
international members, and fosters communication in the
international library area. Members will get the ICS newsletter, be
added to the membership directory, and join in the discussion
list.

2010 LWB Grant
The International Cooperation Section is pleased to announce the 2010 MLA Librarians Without Borders® Grant. The grant supports health science librarianship in HINARI Access to Research Initiative eligible countries, by funding training opportunities and/or the purchase of materials that further the use of biomedical resources for education, research or clinical practice.

2011 Cunningham Fellowship Applications Due December 1, 2009
Applications are now being accepted for the 2011 Cunningham Memorial International Fellowship. The Fellowship is awarded annually to citizens or permanent residents from countries outside the United States and Canada who have both an undergraduate degree and a master’s level library degree and are working or preparing to work in a health sciences library in their home country. The program consists of a three-week stay including one week at MLA’s 2011 annual meeting and an optional one to two week stay at library host sites. Grace Ajuwon receives first MLA Librarians Without Borders® Grant
The first MLA Librarians Without Borders® Grant for $5,000 has been awarded to Grace A. Ajuwon, MLS. Grace is the Reference and Information Services Librarian at the E. Latunde Odeku Medical Library, College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan in Ibadan, Nigeria.
