Grant Information for International Cooperation

The following is a list of foundations that are interested in global cooperation:  

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Two of Gates Foundation's interest areas are Reducing Global Health Inequities and Public Access to Information.

  • Reducing Global Health Inequities
    The foundation's Global Health Program is focused on reducing global health inequities by accelerating the development, deployment and sustainability of health interventions that will save lives and dramatically reduce the disease burden in developing countries.
  • Public Access to Information
    Access to information is an age-old problem that has taken on a new urgency with the emergence of the Internet as a fundamental tool for learning. It is critically important that technology is available to everyone, regardless of race, gender, income or age.

Case Foundation

Case Foundation works on digital divide both in United States and internationally. Case Foundation believes that Information and communication technologies will never be a magic bullet that eliminates the need for sound developmental investments, but they can serve as a crucial factor, enabling NGOs, governments and individual citizens to improve the quality of life at home and abroad.  

Elsevier Foundation

One of the grant areas is the 'STM Communities' and the grants can be up to $25,000. The Foundation provides grants to organizations that demonstrate excellence and innovation in scientific research and information services in order to advance vital research and scholarly thinking. These grants take the form of program support, lectureships, and selected scholarships.

Ford Foundation

One of Ford Foundation's current interests is to “promote international cooperation”.

Open Society Institute and Soros Foundation Network

OSI initiatives award grants, scholarships, and fellowships on a regular basis throughout the year all over the world. The type of grant and eligibility requirements differs for each initiative. Health and information are two of the areas.
